A dark room slowly fills with the glow of a mega-screen as the city’s nighttime skyline shines through the windows. An LAPD Blade Runner sits in the dark, silhouetted by the window. The camera pans to reveal case files and a couple of cigarettes in their ashtray on the desk.
An LAPD vehicle soars across the night sky and then we see the Blade Runner walk through what appears to be an empty police headquarters. The red glow of a computer booting up gives way to a memory orb being scanned. With his hand on the controller, the Blade Runner’s eye scans the memories.
Picking through the pieces. Being someone else. In places that no longer exist. That’s where you’ll find me. Searching, in the Land of the Dead.
The first Blade Runner game in 25 years is brought to life by Annapurna Interactive. With a timeline set in between the original Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049, the game takes place after the events of the Black Out and asks: what does a Blade Runner do when there are no Replicants left to hunt?
