He’s coming… Robert Eggers sits down to discuss the origins of the 2024 horror film, Nosferatu. Eggers explains that he acquired a VHS copy of the 1922 classic vampire horror film when he was eight or nine.
“The past really speaks to me. So, it’s most interesting for me to think about who we are and where we are going, from where we came from.” Eggers says that in high school he had the idea of performing Nosferatu as a silent film stage play with black-and-white makeup, black-and-white costumes and supertitles.
Robert Eggers explains that he has been working on Nosferatu for 10 years or more. By building a rich background story for Ellen Hutter and the vampire Count Orlock, Eggers feels that this Nosferatu is truly his own. Here is the official website for Nosferatu.
