Melissa Hogenboom of BBC Global discusses how humming, like music, is considered beneficial across multiple systems. Humming vibrations resonate internally and can stimulate the vagus nerve, which may benefit the respiratory system, parasympathetic nervous system, and digestive system. Humming can synchronize the heart’s rhythm and help calm breathing to reduce and manage stress.
This is not health advice, see TOS, but I meditate. After heavy workouts, I do focused breathing exercises. I have also found that humming elevates my mood and focus.
