BCI technology could unlock cures with a tiny implant, making neurological disorders a thing of the past. Our brains can interface with computers and that may unlock abilities that have deteriorated, lost, or that we can only imagine.
The age of neural engineering is here and S³ is discussing it with Max Hodak and his team at Science Corporation. Hodak was one of the original co-founders of Neuralink and is the founder of Science Corporation.
BCI stands for brain-computer interface and it consists of three components. The probe that makes contact with the brain tissue, the headstage which connects the probe to the network, and the software.
The headstage handles all of that digital interpretation of electromagnetic frequencies from our brains. This is a pass-through and a processor between the world and the brain. Science Corporation built an electronic device called “Sci-Fi” to handle that task. Previous systems were not built for the current or the next-generation technology. The traditional BCI hardware is bulky, expensive, and has delicate hard-to-pug connectors.
