Charlie Day from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia plays the fool, a man who was held in a mental health facility after losing his understanding of the world and the ability to speak. Fool’s Paradise is a satirical comedy about a down-on-his-luck publicist, who gets his lucky break when he discovers that a man recently released from a mental health facility is the doppelganger of a method actor who refuses to leave his trailer. With the help of a powerful producer, the publicist helps reinvent the mental health patient as Latte Pronto, a huge star that marries his leading lady.
The adventure leads to crossing paths with drunken costars, irreverent unhoused action heroes, unpredictable directors, a super agent, and power-mad moguls. Fame and fortune are not all they it is cracked up to be. Fool’s Paradise features one of the final screen performances of Ray Liotta. Written and directed by Charlie Day in his directorial debut, Fool’s Paradise has an all-star comedy cast and is in theaters on May 12th, 2023.
