Toronto-born Sarah Polley won the 2023 Oscar for Writing (Adaptive Screenplay). Polley thanks the Academy for not being offended by the two words, Women and Talking so close together, and discusses the 2018 novel of the same name by Miriam Toews. Polley thanks her team and asks them to stand.
